Are All Products Manufactured in the United States?
Yes, all Dickinson’s products are manufactured in the United States of America.
Are Dickinson’s Products Vegan and Cruelty-free?
All of our products are vegan and cruelty-free. We never test on animals at any stage of product development.
Are Either Your Harvesting Or Your Manufacturing Practices Sustainable?
Our harvesting methods do not impact the well-being of any humans, animals, or other ecosystems on the lands. Due to our sustainable harvesting methods and our responsible acquisition of our ingredients, we ensure that we do not deplete the forests in any way and that each plant will completely renew itself within the next 5 to 7 years.
Additionally, heat generated from our process is recycled to heat our manufacturing building, and any waste material generated is sold as lawn mulch to local garden stores.
Are The Cloths/towelettes Flushable?
No, please dispose of cloths and towelettes in the trash as they are not safe for septic or sewer systems.

Is Alcohol Used to Distill Your Witch Hazel?
No, we use a proprietary distillation process using high purity steam to extract the purest, most efficacious compounds from the twigs and bark of mature witch hazel plants – producing a pure aqueous distillate.
Is Dickinson’s Packaging Made of Recyclable Materials?
The bottles and caps of our Dickinson’s toners are recyclable. Please make sure your municipality accepts #1 plastics.
So Why Does Your Pore Perfecting Toner Say That It Contains 14% Alcohol?
Our pure, natural witch hazel distillate contains organic compounds that will spoil if not preserved. After producing our witch hazel distillate, it is combined in-line with pure grain alcohol as a gentle, natural preservative at the lowest level possible. This is how we create our exclusive, 100% natural non-drying formula that has been loved by generations of Americans.
There Are a Lot of Products Claiming to Be Witch Hazel on the Market – How Do I Know If My Product Is Genuine Witch Hazel?
Your nose knows! An easy way to tell if your product contains genuine witch hazel is to give it a sniff!
Genuine witch hazel has a distinct botanical scent that is its signature. Even in fragranced products, often you can smell its characteristic undertones.
Also, you can check the ingredients statement on the back label to see if witch hazel is at the top or bottom of the list. Cosmetic products are required to list ingredients in descending order of concentration. If water is listed first – it’s not powered by genuine witch hazel!
No, we use a proprietary distillation process using high purity steam to extract the purest, most efficacious compounds from the twigs and bark of mature, dormant witch hazel plants – producing a pure organic aqueous distillate.
What Is the Expiration Date on Dickinson’s Products?
Cosmetic manufacturing guidelines do not require that our products have expiration dating. All of our products, however, go through rigorous testing to ensure quality, safety and stability of at least two years (and in many cases exceeding three years!) though we trust you’ll love them enough that you’ll use them up long before then.
What Products Are Best For My Skin?
Our products are appropriate for all skin types: they’re dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, non-irritating, and formulated without parabens, phthalates, dyes, sulfates, and gluten.

Why Does Dickinson’s Only Use Distilled Witch Hazel For Its Products?
It’s important to us that we only use the highest quality ingredients in our products. And since USP guidelines require witch hazel to be distilled in order to produce the purest, safest and most effective form, that’s what we do and what we use.
